I have Windows XP on my sony VAIO laptop. At my old address I could access our wireless network. I recently moved and my laptop now shuts off if I have my networking card turned on. if the
network card is off, the computer boots fine and stays on until I turn on my wireless detector-the the computer immediately shuts down. I discovered through browsing that someone also encountered a similar problem and came to this website for help.

Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Best,
Nathaniel

First, this is not a web site.  You have posted to a Usenet newsgroup,
via a web "portal" somewhere.

Second, if your wireless adapter forces laptop to shutdown, you have a
problem with either the drivers or the card itself.

You can test the card by removing and re-installing the drivers.  If
the problem continues, you might have a problem with the card, then
you should test the laptop at a different wi-fi spot (other than
yours.)
