Sharing a Wired Printer over Wireless NetworkI have a wireless router with an XP machine hard-wired to it (ie. via
ethernet cable). There is a printer attached via USB to this PC. I have set the properties of the printer to allow sharing. When I connect to the router via a wireless link with my laptop I cannot see the printer which I think I should be able to if it is set to share. If I browse for printers it shows me the name of the Workgroup set up on the PC but no printers under it. Any ideas how I "find" the printer so that I can add it on my laptop and therefore print to it? Hi
Whether it is wire or wireless should not matter, the issue is correct File and printer sharing. Maybe this can Help. Successful Sharing involves some general consideration in Network settings, http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what it is allowed to be shared.
