sharing broadband not files

hey,
Iv got a laptop (XP Home) and also a PC (XP Home) the PC shares the
broadband connection with the laptop, yet i can not seem to make them share
files... i hope someone can help iv literally been trying to figure this out
for 24 hours now :(

turn off the fire walls and enable file sharing then reboot. ( share a
directory on both )
